What do you think students need most to success both academically and in life in general?
They need to try doing things outside their comfort zone, to not be afraid to make mistakes, move on, and laugh a lot.

What do you like most about your job and why?
Touching the lives of children  of different ages and making them feel good about themselves. I love when students come back and visit.

How long have you been a teacher?
34 years

What are some of your short-term and long-term goals?
Short-term is to take a mission trip to Kenya, long-term is to be a grandfather.

What made you want to be a teacher?
Growing up on the mission field in Indonesia where my parents started numerous orphanages.

Who is your favorite historical figure and why?
C.T. Studd. He gave up fame and fortune as an athlete to follow God's calling as a missionary in China, India, and Africa.

What is the perfect job in your opinion and why?
The perfect job is doing what I do now - teaching P.E. I get to work and play and the same time.

What time do you wake up in the morning and what do you think about first?
I get up at 5 a.m. and think about letting the dog out, making coffee, and what fun things the day has for me.

Who is your best friend and why?
My wife, Sloan, is my best friend. I love being with her and doing things together.

If you had to spend a year on the moon by yourself, what five things would you take with you?
My Bible, swiss army knife, a picture of my family, a harmonica, and a journal.

What do students need the most from you as an educator?
To accept and support their individuality and to encourage their gifts and talents.
